SLRR neumoegen station

slrr neumoegen entry An unrealized design competition entry for the Second Life Rail Road (SLRR), the nature of the Neumoegen Station as the midway point of the SLRR gives it a very different character than the terminal stations. This station is designed to take advantage of this transitional quality, and attempts to create a strong and unique presence through a legible assembly of structural and layered components. The desired outcomes of the design exercise were to maintain a sensitivity to the surrounding community by avoiding heavy and monumental expression, impart a recognizable identity for the SLRR so riders can easily locate and use the station, and provide an opportunity for gathering and socialization that is contextualized by the ephemeral nature of the train itself and the experience of ridership.
